Driving At Airport
San Francisco International Airport(SFO)
Waiting for Ride Requests:
- Stay Logged Into the YRide Driver App: Drivers must remain signed into the app at all times while at the airport, including while in the designated staging areas.
- Respect Airport Personnel: Always obey airport agents’ instructions and follow all posted signs and traffic rules.
- Designated Staging Areas: Wait in the designated staging areas as shown in the app. You can choose from the available lots. The main staging area is located off S. McDonnell Rd.
- Lot 1: 5 AM – 3 AM (closed 3 AM – 5 AM)
- Lot 2: 8 AM – 2 AM (closed 2 AM – 8 AM)
- Lot 3: 8 AM – 2 AM (closed 2 AM – 8 AM)
- Full Staging Areas: If the staging area is full, you must leave the airport property. Do not wait for requests anywhere else or use non-designated parking lots.
- Dispatches: You may receive ride requests from outside the airport while waiting in the staging area.
- Passenger Cancellations: Passenger cancellations do not affect your standing. Return to the staging area within 15 minutes to continue receiving ride requests.
- Driver Cancellations: Cancellations or missed ride requests may impact your ability to receive new requests.
- Viewing Your Ride Requests: You can monitor all ride requests in the YRide Driver app.
PickUps:
- Terminal Pickups: For Terminals 1, 2, and 3, pick up passengers at the top level (L5) of the Domestic Parking Garage.
- International Terminal: For the International Terminal, riders can be picked up on the Departures Level at the Center Island between Zones 13 and 17 or “blue and green” curb color zone. There are posted signs “Lyft/Uber Keep Left” leading up to the terminal.
- Secondary Lot: When instructed, proceed to the Express Lot on Garage Level 5 (C3 Zone) for up to 10 minutes to await further requests. Remain in your vehicle at all times.
Drop-offs:
- Domestic Terminals: Drop off passengers at Level 2 on the Departures level.
- International Terminal: For the International Terminal, riders can be dropped off on the Departures Level at the Center Island between Zones 13 and 17 or “blue and green” curb color zone. There are posted signs “Lyft/Uber Keep Left” leading up to the terminal.
- Arrivals Drop-offs: Drivers are allowed to drop off on the arrivals (lower) level. However, pickups on the arrivals level remain prohibited.
SFO Airport Placard:
- Lavender Placard: All YRide drivers must display the SFO lavender airport placard. TCP license is applicable, if YRide drivers are operating under charter-party carrier regulations, a TCP license plate or certificate might be required. TCP is not required for vehicles solely operating as Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) like YRide where rides are requested exclusively via an app and not pre-arranged outside the app.
- YRide Vehicle Trade Dress: YRide Trade dress must be displayed on both the front and rear windows, easily visible from a distance of at least 50 feet (and it is suggested to affix it on the outside of tinted windows)..
- License Plate Requirement: SFO airport placards can only be associated with a valid California/in-state vehicle license plate. Vehicles must have their permanent license plate or a valid temporary license plate that contains their unique vehicle identification while waiting for the permanent license plate to arrive.
- Vehicle Inspection: Drivers must have an annual vehicle inspection, or every 50,000 miles (whichever comes first), to maintain the airport placard.
- Obtaining a Placard: If you need to update your placard or license plate, or request a new one, please contact YRide Support at [email protected].
Advertising Prohibition:
- No Advertising: All forms of advertising (vehicular or non-vehicular) are prohibited when operating at SFO, including in the staging lot and pickup/drop-off areas.
General Rules:
- Do Not Stop in Red Zones: Always avoid stopping in restricted areas.
- Speed Limit and Pedestrians: Always obey the speed limit and remain vigilant for pedestrians.
